UNFORGETTABLE
Four pieces of practical mentalism from Joel Dickinson.
Unforgettable is a collection of four routines created to be practical, direct and deceptive.
Each routine is fully explained inside the printed booklet, with QR codes appearing throughout that take you directly to relevant performances, tutorials and additional video guidance.
Read the routine. Watch it performed. See the important moments demonstrated. Then continue straight on with the explanation.
Unnoticed

PLUS: Unforseen Mini
UNSPOKEN
A participant thinks of any playing card in the deck.
As the magician shuffles the cards, the participant is asked to think of any playing card.
The magician explains that rather than trying to read an entire thought, it can sometimes be easier to read individual pieces of information.
A group of cards is shown and the participant is simply asked:
The process continues before the magician shifts their attention to the suit.
Then the demonstration changes completely.
The participant is told to stop answering aloud.
From this point forward, the magician asks a series of questions and the participant answers them silently, only in their mind.
After a few moments, the magician looks directly at the participant...
Unspoken also includes an additional ACAAN presentation.
Before anything happens, a participant names any number between one and fifty-two. Later, their thought-of card can appear at that exact position in the deck.
UNNOTICED
Sometimes the most useful thing.. is the thing that nobody notices.
A powerful prediction system that fits in your pocket.
Unnoticed grew from Joel's experience of watching his late friend Adam Hudson perform.
Adam would regularly use a notebook during his theatre and close up performances. He would make notes during routines, work things out and record information in full view of the audience.
Yet something interesting happened:
It simply made sense for it to be there.
That observation eventually became the starting point for Unnoticed.
The booklet explores the handling, thinking, subtleties and nuances that allow the notebook to become a natural part of a mentalism performance.
UNFORESEEN
A which-hand routine with an ending that has been in their hands from the beginning.
You hand somebody two ordinary objects:
A coin and a crumpled piece of scrap paper.
The participant places both items behind their back and secretly decides which hand will contain the coin and which will contain the paper.
They bring their hands forward.
You identify exactly where the coin is hidden.
The game continues, with the objects being mixed behind the participant's back and the magician identifying which hand contains which object.
Then, for the final phase, the participant is given another decision.
The choice is theirs.
The magician asks a question 'Is the coin in this hand' and correctly identifies whether the participant is telling the truth or lying.
But that isn't the real ending.
Attention returns to the crumpled piece of paper that has been used throughout the entire demonstration.
The participant has been holding it during the game.
They open it..
The game comes completely full circle, with the object that appeared least important becoming the final revelation.
UNFORSEEN MINI
A simple, quick, one-phase which-hand routine.
You hand somebody a piece of paper and a coin.
The participant places both items behind their back, choosing one hand for the coin and the other for the paper.
They then bring both hands forwards, hiding both items and you reveal which hand contains the coin and which hand contains the paper.. every single time. No skill needed and a lot of fun to perform.
A fast, simple and powerful version of the which-hand premise that can be performed as a complete routine on its own.
UNCONTROLLABLE
A game of which hand formulates a playing card.
A participant plays a simple game of which hand with a ring.
But this time, every result creates another part of a playing card.
If you pick incorrectly, it could be black.
The game continues.
Another decision determines the suit.
Another determines whether the card is a picture card or a number card.
Across a total of four rounds, the identity of a playing card is gradually formed.
Yet you knew the exact playing card the participant would select well ahead of time.
The entire process can take around a minute and the game itself does not require a deck of cards.
FOUR DIFFERENT ROUTINES
These aren't four variations of one effect.
Each routine has its own premise, structure and performance style.
Unspoken is a thought-of-card revelation that progresses into a demonstration in which the participant begins answering questions silently in their mind.
Unnoticed explores a prediction system by naturally incorporating an ordinary notebook into a mentalism performance.
Unforeseen begins as a game involving a coin and a piece of paper before bringing everything full circle with a truth-teller-or-liar prediction.
Uncontrollable turns a quick game of which hand into a way of gradually formulating a complete playing card and revealing it anyway you wish!
Plus, Unforseen Mini gives you a quick, one-phase version of the which-hand premise that can be performed as a complete routine on its own.
